GGHC: PlugNLearn Case Progress Pics
We’ve only got a few days left in the Greater Global Hackerspace Challenge, and our PlugNLearn “reference design” for The Sensing Platform is coming along nicely. These were printed on chorca reprap (two larger pieces) and da3v’s makerbot (two smaller pieces) using “Rock’n Royal Blue” ABS from Makergear. Looks like we will be cutting the acrylic & integrating the electronics on Sunday. Should be a long, but rewarding day – if you’ve got time to help us make progress, please come out to the lab!
Greater Global Hackerspace Challenge Update
With less than one week to go, the FAMiLab GGHC project team has made an AMAZING amount of progress. We’ve designed a sensor hub / node protocol, written an Arduino library, created a project overview and roadmap deck, created a github source repository, created a hub and sensor node reference design, modeled and printed a case, designed a custom PCB, started a win32 data capture program and a Processing data capture / graphing program, launched a website and blogged about our adventures. We haven’t slept much, but there is time […]
Tetsu’s aireplay-ng -5 script revised.
I told Dan a while back I was going to revise his, already awesome, aireplay-ng -5 script to make it a bit more user friendly. Though the modifications were small; they took care of the job. They also seem to have fixed the problem with the processes not terminating properly. There are still a few things I would like to integrate and I will play with them when I have time. Hope you all enjoy… And like I said most of the credit goes to Tetsu; I just splashed it […]
The $610 RepRap (Prusa Mendel)
A lot of pholks have recently seen 3d printers in action and are motivated to build their own. Well, we’ve got two 3d printing experts (compared to most of us), and one of them was kind enough to make a spreadsheet with all the stuff we’d need to purchase, links to them, and bulk purchasing minimums. According to his spreadsheet, we could all save ~$100 if we could get 8 people to pool monies to buy parts. Tha Prusa Mendel Spreadsheet courtesy of Chris from Tasty Crepes
WARNING: Sentry In Lab, Bring Portal Gun
It looks like Zane has finished his Portal-inspired sentry gun and left it at the lab overnight, allowing it to evolve consciousness and determine, however correct or incorrect, that humans are the biggest threat to their own survival. I would suggest against going to the lab any time this weekend until we can get a cleaning crew out there. But if you happen to have a portal or gravity gun, you know, feel free to take care of it yourself.
