FAMiLab is a membership driven organization and membership dues currently provide our main source of revenue. We can’t keep this place running without you! Membership in the FAMiLab is open to artists, hackers, makers and tinkerers who want to work in a collaborative, friendly environment. If you are interested in becoming a member, you should follow these three easy steps:

  • » Get to know the space. Contact us at familab.4am {at} gmail {dot} com and let us know when you want to come in for a visit
  • » Print out and complete the membership packet {pdf}. Read through it carefully!
  • » Come to a meeting and pony up the membership dues

Once you are confirmed as a full member (meaning all members present at the meeting hold a quick vote confirming your membership), we’ll hand you a key and you’ll have access to a plethora of awesome stuff, including:

  • » A right to use the space 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • » Access to all workshops and events
  • » Use of all the tools and equipment within the space
  • » A voice in the direction and development of the FAMiLab
  • » Voting rights during all meetings
  • » Right to (if elected) be a board member and/or hold a leadership position

/membership.levels.and.dues

All membership dues are to be paid during our monthly business meeting, which occurs on the third Tuesday of every month. FAMiLab currently has three membership levels:

» Full Hacker: Dues are $50/month (or more if you can afford it). Full hackers receive all benefits outlined above. $50/mo
» Starving Hacker: Dues are $30/month. If you can’t afford $50/month, but would still like to join the FAMiLab, this membership level is for you. Please note that starving hackers only receive benefits 1-3 as outlined above. $30/mo
» Guest Hacker: Guests are always welcome (as long as they accompany a full member or are scoping out the lab)! We do asks that if you find yourself visiting more than two or three times a month you consider donating $5-$10/month to the FAMiLab. $10/mo
